Middlesex County Young Artists' Portfolio Workshop — Mini Camp

August 24th, 2026

This series of workshops was designed to help young artists learn everything that goes into planning and creating an artist portfolio. Over four weeks, and a culminating Gallery day event, workshop participants explored theme, medium, presentation, and more. At the Gallery Day, participants presented their portfolio to a room full of parents, teachers, and several experts who offered their comments and advice. Young Artists were left with more skill, encouragement, and confidence to pursue their interest in the arts.

Testimonials

"The summer program with Bowery Art Collective was such a great experience for our family. Not only did my child have so much fun in each class, she came home and bonded with her sister over their interest in art, as well as - she always had something new to talk about with us at home. The techniques she learned were both age appropriate and challenging. The overall atmosphere of the class was inviting, kind, and nurturing. I felt safe bringing my child each week, and I knew the teachers really cared about everybody there. The art gallery gave my child a feeling of accomplishment, pride, and definitely nurtured her creativity and love for art. We are already excited to see what next summer has to offer! Thank you all at Bowery Art Collective!"

“The Bowery Middlesex Kids Art Program was such a special experience for our daughters, Melanie and Emily. They already loved creating art at home, but this program gave them the opportunity to explore their creativity in new ways, learn new techniques, make friends, and most importantly, become more confident in themselves.

We especially loved that the program celebrated each child’s individuality. Melanie and Emily were able to create pieces inspired by the things they genuinely love, and every week we could see more of their personalities coming through in their artwork. We loved that the younger age was also invited to participate, Emily loves joining clubs and events with her sister while still being very independent from her.

Gallery Night was the perfect ending. Watching them proudly stand beside their work, talk about what they created, and share it with their family was incredibly meaningful.

Both girls told us this program made their whole summer, and as parents, that says everything. We are so grateful to Tori, Miriam, and everyone at Bowery Middlesex for creating a space where kids can feel comfortable being themselves, try new things, make connections, and be proud of what they create. We truly hope programs like this continue because they make an impact far beyond the artwork. ❤️”

“My daughter, age nine, learned so much from Tori and Mariam through this program. They created a structured and engaging experience that helped her develop a portfolio of artwork centered around a theme. The program culminated in an exhibition celebrating the participants’ creativity and hard work. Best of all, she met other budding artists with whom she could exchange ideas, collaborate, and share her love of art.”
